A trip to Gloucester today to see the Severn Bore from Upper Rea (SO807167), a tide-induced wave which races up the River Severn occasionally. This was a ‘four star’ wave, the only one this year. Look forward to seeing the predictions for 2026 when they come out, hoping for one of the ultra-rare ‘five star’ waves.
Hi to Sarah and the couple of surfers who were kind enough to chat. One of the surfers mentioned he’d managed to ride the wave three miles one time, although today the wave got the better of him.
